Preston Edmondson is a Partner located in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina, an area globally recognized as a hub of innovation and development. A serial entrepreneur with a varied career in finance, investment banking and early stage ventures, Preston is a business development focused finance professional who brings his clients a unique perspective in strategic planning and corporate finance decision making. While in Public Accounting, Preston managed audits for publically traded “Fortune 100” companies, to technology consulting for lower middle market companies. As a founder of Capital Holdings Group, Preston assisted his partners in starting 12 early stage companies such as LearningStation.com, Peer Software, SOP Staffing, MetaComm, Inc., among others, holding positions from CFO, VP Business Development to CEO. While at Capital Holdings, Preston was approached by the CEO of Paragon Bank, a $1.2 billion regional bank to create and manage the Corporate Finance Department. Following Paragon, Preston joined Trestle Capital Partners as a Partner to assist middle market business owners with their investment banking needs. In 2010, Preston created Trinity Fund Partners to enable him to work closely with and invest in early stage ventures. Trinity is a Merchant Bank which is active with the NC State Entrepreneurship Program, and has ownership in a number of these early stage ventures. Preston has assisted in nearly $500 million in M&A transactions in a variety of industries including healthcare, technology, manufacturing and staffing. Preston’s transaction experience includes sell-side representation, buy side advisory, capital raise, Employee Stock Option Plans (ESOP) and management buyouts, among others. Preston received his BS in Accounting from Carson Newman University and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in North Carolina.
