Its activity is centred around the production, sales, storage, preservation and logistics of frozen and refrigerated products. Founded in 1968, Silomar is committed to sustainable fishing, biodiversity and respect for the environment. Unión Martín is one of the Canary Islands' leading producers, distributors and retailers of Mercadona fish, with sales of 80 million euros. Unión Martín, with 104 employees, is focused on growth. In 2016, after taking over Mercadona's supply in the Canary Islands (85 shops), it entered Andalusia, another highly competitive market for seafood products. With this acquisition, Unión Martín has positioned itself among the top 20 Spanish companies in the sector. Thanks to Silomar, the company acquires 6,000 tonnes of product per year and a processing plant on the Spanish mainland, hence consolidating its expansion process.
