Heejun Yang is a Partner based in Seoul, South Korea. Mr. Yang previously worked for Woori Private Equity Asset Management in Korea as a Managing Director and directed buyouts and growth capital investments in technology, retails, and chemical sectors. Before that, he was a Managing Director and Head of Seoul office at BDA Partners, a global investment banking firm specialized in M&A advisory in Asia. At BDA Partners, he completed cross-border M & A projects in a diverse range of industries, including software, semiconductors, manufacturing, and advanced chemicals. Before that, Mr. Yang worked at Woori Investment & Securities, where he was in charge of principal investment activities in the technology sector. He also served Samsung Securities in Seoul and managed strategic investments in e-commerce ventures. He has a BSc in Physics from Sung Kyun Kwan University in Korea and earned his MBA and MSc in E-commerce from Carnegie Mellon University in the USA.


Heejun earned his Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Science (MSc) in E-Commerce from Carnegie Mellon University in the United States. During his time at Carnegie Mellon, he served as a lecturer at the School of Computer Science, where he taught e-commerce technologies. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in Physic from Sung Kyun Kwan University in Korea.


Heejun has over 20 years of experience in M&A and private equity investments. He worked on many corporate finance transactions across various sectors and managed numerous M&A, buyout, and growth capital investment. He mainly has strong expertise in cross border M&A in Asia. He also served in senior management positions at top-tier investment banking and private equity firms in Korea, taking on projects in sectors including industrials, retail, manufacturing, software, semiconductors, and advanced chemicals.

Track Record

Throughout his career, Heejun advised many multinational corporates (MNCs) in cross border M&A such as Molex, Pfizer, Henkel, Weir Group, Magna, Mann Hummel, Mueller, PPG, Sigma Aldrich, and Clariant. He also conducted numerous M&A projects with Korean companies, including Samsung, Hyundai, KCC, GS Group, FILA, Byucksan, and Doosan.
