Juan Emilio Posada is a senior executive with extensive international experience in business development, structuring, and financing of large-scale projects, as well as executive leadership in key sectors such as infrastructure, transportation, energy, and telecommunications.
He led ISA (Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. E.S.P.), one of the most important multinational companies in high-voltage electricity transmission, toll road infrastructure, and telecommunications, with operations in Brazil, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Argentina, and Central America. Under his leadership, the company achieved record profitability margins, with estimated earnings of $600 million in 2023, and secured a record $4.8 billion in infrastructure investment contracts, quadrupling the average of previous years.
Previously, he served as a senior advisor to the President of Colombia, Iván Duque, playing a key role in accelerating strategic government projects and coordinating high-level business initiatives.
Juan Emilio has led various companies at different stages of development, including Avianca, Aces, and VivaAir, as well as Puerto Brisa, a large-scale port infrastructure project in northern Colombia. He also founded and expanded VivaAir, Colombia’s first low-cost airline.
Throughout his career, he has held senior positions in commercial and development banks, insurance companies, brokerage firms, and public utility companies in the U.S. and Latin America. Additionally, he has been a member and chairman of boards of directors in private, state-owned, family businesses, startups, and NGOs across various sectors.
